David “Pat” Ryan, 84, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital Sunday, to be with God and all of his family and friends that have gone before him.
David was born March 17th, 1936 in Syracuse NY to Leo and Lois (Webb) Ryan. He grew up in Syracuse, NY, attended Saint Anthony’s School and graduated from Central High School before attending Pratt University for Art design and Onondaga Community College for Criminal Justice.
David was employed by the 174th Tactical Fighter Group, Hancock Field, Syracuse, NY. He was activated to Phalsbourg, France during the Berlin Crisis.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved golf, music, sports, old movies, and the ocean at Cocoa Beach, FL. He also enjoyed getting together with family and friends. David was communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool, NY, and a member of the 174th alumni, American Legion 787 in Cicero, and Salina Town Seniors.
David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marie (Maxwell) Ryan, a daughter Patricia (John) Haungs, son Dennis (Amanda) Ryan, sisters: Rosanne Ryan; Pamela (David) Worlock; Mary Ryan (Donald) Taylor, brother Michael Ryan, and brother-in-law Richard (Colletta) Walker. He is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren: David, Daniel, and Michael Haungs; Molly and Chloe Ryan, several nieces and nephews, and extended family members Michele Calcagina and Claud (Jessica) Mitchell.
David is predeceased by sisters Jean (Richard) Windsor, Sharon (Richard) Walker, Vicky (Leonard) Wilson, brother William (Vicky) Ryan.
A viewing and mass will be held for David at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool, NY on Friday, November 6, 2020. Due to current capacity limits, the viewing and mass will be private. A private burial will follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Contributions may be made in David’s honor to the American Heart Assoc. 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6 Waltham, MA 02451
