Thomas J. Herold,78, passed away peacefully Friday at his daughter’s home with her by his side. He proudly served in the Army during Vietnam. He was a communicant of Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church. Thomas was a self-employed barber, worked as a driver / warehouse associate for ADP (Automatic Data Processing) for more than 33 yrs., a security guard for Imperial Garden Apts., member of the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Dept., Avid Bowler, member of American Legion and member of Knights of St. John’s. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Nancy J. in 2011; his parents, Otto and Anna Herold. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa M. Herold; family friend, Ashley Kerrick; two sisters, Caroline (Curt) Foote and Delores Romano; two brothers, Hubert Herold and Ted (Lottie) Herold; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4p.m. to 7p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 1604 Grant Blvd. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11a.m. at Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be at the Onondaga Veterans Memorial. Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Thomas’s honor to Hospice of C.N.Y.
