Thelma Kieffer, 97, of Liverpool passed away on Tuesday. She was a communicant of Assumption Church. Thelma was the founder of Kieffer’s Cigar Store with her husband, Robert. She Volunteered at Assumption Food Pantry and also at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Thelma was kind and loving to everyone she met. Thelma was especially loving and caring to her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Raphael and Mercedes Santiago. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Robert; five daughters, Nancy Kieffer, Joan (Dan) Hodgins, Carol (Ed) Maier, Mary (Jim) Piazza and Ginger (Jeff) Kurtz; her grandchildren, Lisa Winner-Swete, Danielle Hodgins, Christa Maier, Gina Haller, Leah Hodgins, Carina Hodgins, Grace Piazza and Jimmy Piazza. Thelma’s family would like to thank the many caregivers that helped her throughout her journey. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Assumption Church 812 North Salina Street with A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10a.m. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
