Suzanne “Suzy” Benninger Perez, 74, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at Bishop Nursing Home on Thursday, July 11, 2019. She was a native of Ithaca, NY and was a graduate of Ithaca High School in 1962. Suzy has resided in Syracuse since 1987.
During her high school years, she was very active in extracurricular activities, including synchronized swimming and being the secretary of the Ithaca High School Student Council. During her young married years, she enjoyed sewing and being a devoted band mom. Suzy was a mother who encouraged Penny to be active in school activities, work and her studies.
Suzy is survived by her daughter, Penelope “Penny” Beach and her brothers, Dale Benninger and Jacob Benninger (Martha), as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Marguerite Quick Woodruff and by her father Kenneth C. Benninger.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16th, from 10 to 11 am at Life Church, 7125 Collamer Rd., East Syracuse, followed by services at 11 am and a reception. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17th at 10 am at Loomis Hill Cemetery, 4069 Howell Hill Rd, Syracuse.
