Obituary

Stephen J. Kramer
October 13, 1958 - December 1, 2020
Stephen Joseph Kramer, 62, of Cicero, unexpectedly went to heaven on Tuesday. For those that knew “Krame”, realized what an amazing person he was. He was kind and patient and saw the good in everyone. He worked for 40 years at Syracuse University and just retired in October. Everybody loved Krame at work. He was a positive and can-do person.

He had a wonderful (albeit, vulgar at times!) sense of humor and would spread his positive energy and empathy to those he encountered - friends, neighbors, acquaintances -even strangers. His family would laugh about him striking up conversations with total strangers and getting into meaningful conversations with them. Krame was a character and the light of many people’s lives. His marriage was a fun-filled special relationship where he provided foundation, protection, and a safe harbor for his wife, Beth and their children. He lived honorably and played hard. He lived in a state of gratitude and was the anchor in his family’s life. He often would tell people that if he died tomorrow, he would “shake God’s hand” - for giving him such a good life.

His wife often referred to him as “MacGyver” as he could figure out how to get out of or fix any situation. He had a brilliant mechanical mind and loved to tinker on the many motors he owned (muscle car, motorcycles, jet skis, snowmobiles, speed boat). He was the best husband and father any of us could’ve asked for. We will cherish the time we were able to spend together.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 29 years, Beth Kramer and two beloved children, Raychel and Stephen Kramer; his father, Raymond Kramer; his sister, Marianne Kramer (Yanal) and his brother, Jay Garrett. His mother, Jean Garrett, had predeceased him. He leaves behind some of his most treasured possessions, including his ‘69 Chevy Camaro, Harley Davidson Road King, Arctic Cat snowmobiles, Baja speed boat, and Kawasaki jet ski, which he often treated as family. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, KC kitty.

Calling Hours will be Friday, December 11th, from 4 to 7 pm at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd, Cicero. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at the church and burial will be private.
