November 9, 1958 - April 16, 2021
Samuel House, Sr., 62, of Syracuse received his wings on Friday. Samuel was born in Florida, and was raised by his grandmother, Albertha Holmes-Davis. He came to Syracuse as a teenager, and joined the Army, where he honorably served his country. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend, and will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. Samuel loved music, dancing, laughing and cooking. Even though life wasn't easy, he still tried to be there for others. A good man underneath the hardship. He was predeceased by his mother, Eura Ross, by his father, Clifford House, by his sisters, Marilyn Rivers and Jacquelyn Ross and by his brothers, Coleman Jones, Jr. and James Jones. Survivors include his six children, Michael (Chantel) Bailey, Sr., Sharon (Robert) Jamison, Samuel House, Jr., Jason House, Brittany (Khalid) Richardson and Carol Johnson; his grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Jr., Jahleel Brown, Naomi House, Michael Bailey, Jr., Kaleb Jamison, Leanna Bailey, Raheem Richardson, Jeremy Johnson, James Jones, Jasmine Johnson, Tyann Grazes, Edward Grazes, Jameshina Jones, Sammy Hodges, Daquan Hodges, Dashawn Hodges; his six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Robert Jones and Willie Ross. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 27th, from 12 to 2 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse and services will follow at 2 pm.
