Sadie Stedman, 98, longtime resident of East Syracuse, passed away on Monday. Sadie was a native of Auburn, NY, and formerly was employed with General Electric and the Hub Diner. She was an avid bowler and golfer, who was active in various area leagues.
She was predeceased by her husband, of 68 years, Homer in 2011, and by her daughter, Carol Porter in 2001. Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Kathryn) of Minoa, Scott of Baldwinsville and Randy (Debora) Stedman of Manlius; daughters, Candace (Neal) Wakker of Syracuse, Nancy (Stanley) Ferris of Liverpool and Patricia (Jeffery) Morin of Marstons Mills, MA; her 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday, Mar. 27th, from 1 to 3 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. Services will follow at 3 pm and burial will be private in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in honor of Sadie.
