Rose Cerminaro Rotella
August 8, 1930 - November 18, 2021
Rose Rotella, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and longtime resident of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday. Born August 8, 1930, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Saverio and Maria (Paone) Cerminaro. As a child, Rose moved with her family to Tiriolo, Italy, and returned to New Jersey, shortly after marrying her husband, Luigi. Since 1950, Rose has resided in the Syracuse area. She retired, after over 30 years of service with Syracuse China, with a perfect attendance record. She will be remembered for her homemade pizza on Saturday’s, which was enjoyed by family and friends, for her holiday meals and sweet treats. She was predeceased by her husband, of over 55 years, Luigi; by her daughters, Mary Rotella and Janice Mackenzie; by her son, Nate, and by her brother, Joseph Cerminaro. Survivors include her sons, Frank (Cathy) of Cazenovia and Joseph (Karen) of Liverpool; brothers, Orlando Cerminaro of Italy and Ersilio (Norma) Cerminaro of Port St. Lucie, FL; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Maria and David Roder for their care and kindness over the years. Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 29th, from 5 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd, Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St, Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
