Obituary for Rosalie Warren (Guido)

Rosalie Guido Warren
December 7, 2021
Rosalie Guido Warren, 91, longtime resident of Syracuse’s Northside, passed away peacefully on December 7th. Rosalie was born on September 21,1930, to the late Salvatore and Anna Campanella Guido, who immigrated from Superiore’ Venetico, Sicily. As a daughter of immigrants, Rosalie was always proud to be an American. Rosalie had a zest for life. Always smiling, laughing, singing and dancing and occasionally making comments in Italian to make her point. Rosalie was caring, accepting, genuine, with a great sense of humor. As a young girl, she worked at several downtown department stores, including Fischman’s, and it was at the store’s candy counter where a 69-year love story began. She was introduced to her husband, Arthur, by his mother, following his return from the Korean War. The couple remained inseparable, and were always giving to each other, their family and to others. They were devoted volunteers at the Rescue Mission for over 20 years.
She was predeceased by her son, Arthur Warren, Jr., by her brother and sister-in-law, Santo and Margot Guido. Survivors include her husband, of 64 years, Arthur; her daughters, Ann (Robert) Gillette of Syracuse and Rosalie (John) Bartolomeo of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Chelsea (Nate) Gillette, Michelle (Taylor) Gillette, Nathan (Bri) Gillette, Nicholas (still “available”) Bartolomeo, Matthew (Holly) Bartolomeo; brothers-in-law, William Warren of Syracuse and Franklin Warren of Oswego and nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 14th, at 10 am at Our Lady of Pompei / St. Peter Church. Rosalie had limited sight, which she managed with grace for years. Balloons will be released to celebrate her renewed gift of sight, as she enters Heaven. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Please consider a contribution to one of Rosalie’s favorite charities; Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Northside Ministries or Wills Eye Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
As Rosalie would sing: “Que sera, sera…”
