Robert S. Tennant
August 13, 1933 - February 5, 2022
Robert Samuel Tennant passed into eternal life on Saturday, at the age of 88. Bob was born in Geneva, NY, on August 13, 1933, to James and Della (Shires) Tennant. He was a graduate of Geneva High School, and the Oswego State Teachers College. It was at college, where Bob met his beloved future bride, Dorothy; the couple married in 1955. After two years of service in the US Army, he began his teaching career as the Industrial Arts teacher in LaFayette, NY. Later, he took on a new role as Packaging Mechanic at Bristol Myers, where he worked until his retirement.
Bob was a loving husband and father, whose greatest gift was teaching his sons to be the same. A quick wit, he always kept those around him laughing, including his nurses and caregivers in his final days. He was an artist who built the house he raised his family in, he could create anything out of wood, and repair any car or mechanical device. His joy in retirement was traveling to visit his children and grandchildren. In his later years, he enjoyed building new gadgets and fixing things around the house, primarily with his beloved grandson and namesake.
Bob is survived by his wife, of 66 wonderful years, Dorothy (Seifert) Tennant; by his brother, James Tennant; by sons, Scott (Karen), Darren (Penny) and Paul (Samantha), along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (with one on the way, expected in August).
There will not be any services. Burial was in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
