Philomena “Fannie’ Passafiume, 97, of Syracuse passed away on Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church. Fannie enjoyed cooking, baking and her side job working at McDonald’s Restaurant in Shop City, where she was employed as a greeter and hostess. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Mancini and Angela (Cavallaro) Mancini; her husband, Anthony Passafiume in 1992; her son, Frank P. in 2014; her grandson, Phillip Smith in 2017 and her daughter, Carla McDonald in 2019. Fannie is survived by her daughter, Linda (Michael) Orbino; her four grandchildren, Christopher Dardano, Adam Smith, Michael Orbino, Anthony Orbino; several great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Calling hours will be held Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 1604 Grant Blvd. with a service to follow. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery’s Mausoleum. Contributions may be made in Fannie’s honor to the charities of your choice.
