Obituary

Paulina Polo was born in Bellavista, Callao, Peru; on December 19, 1927. Her parents were Victor Macario Polo and Carmen Enriqueta Fernandez.

Paulina was born and raised in a Catholic home, in a Catholic country.

Paulina liked to attend church meetings and be part of the local church choir when she was a teenager. She also liked sports and was good at playing volleyball and basketball.

Paulina was an outstanding student who loved to learn. At school, she was very good at mathematics and geography.

She married Antonio Nonalaya Alvarez in 1952 and had five children: Mary Ann, Carmen, Linda, Antonio, and Carlos. She devoted her time to take care of her family and to raise her children under the principles of love and respect.

When she was 51, she had the opportunity to listen to the Latter-day Saints missionaries who came to her home to teach her whole family. At that time, she received a testimony of the Restored Gospel and immediately embraced the new faith and kept herself as an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also encouraged and made sure that her two sons served full-time missions for the LDS Church.

Paulina emigrated to the United States of America in 1990 with a permanent resident visa and lived in the State of Maryland for many years. She also lived in Florida, Utah, and Pennsylvania before moving to Upstate New York last year.

Paulina was loved by all her relatives, friends and members of the Church who knew her because she always reflected the love of Christ and had a sweet spirit.
