Natalie (Rayo) Sands, 77, longtime resident of Syracuse and Lakeland, passed away on Monday at Upstate Medical with family by her side. Born and raised in Syracuse, Natalie was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Rayo. She was a graduate of Eastwood High School, and worked for Aetna Life Insurance Company. Mrs. Sands was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church. She enjoyed bowling and family activities. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, a grandson, Matthew, her brothers, Mariano, Joseph, Peter, and John; a sister, Angela Martyns. Survivors include her children, Robert, Marie (Rich) Morgan, Mary (Tim) Lathrop, 6 grandchildren, Timothy, Taylor, Breanna, Alexis, Luke and Shawn; 2 great-grandchildren, Rylee and Connor; her sisters Frances D'Agostino, Sister Mary Catherine, and Rosemary (Herbie) Brodt; her brothers, Frank (Kathleen) Rayo and Bob (Terri) Rayo. Calling hours will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 1604 Grant Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. on Saturday at Solvay-Lakeland Church at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland, New York. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville, New York.
