Obituary for MICHELE M. LISTER

MICHELE M. LISTER
March 21, 2022
Michele M Lister (“Little” Michele as she was known to many), age 60, entered her eternal reward at the Franciscan Villa in Syracuse, New York on March 21, 2022 (World Down Syndrome Day). She was born in Burlington, New Jersey on November 28, 1961 to Robert J. and Theresa D. Buzby Lister.
Michele led a full and rich life. In 1983, she graduated from Burlington County Special Services and from there she attended the Occupational Training Center of Burlington County, where she bagged various items for distribution.
Michele was always surrounded by a large and loving family. She enjoyed music (especially the Partridge Family), dancing, working on her puzzle books, swimming, and especially playing games with her siblings and neighbors. At one point, she even attempted to play the tuba.
Michele was involved in the Special Olympics and enjoyed bowling. She collected tabs from cans for the Ronald McDonald House as well as Church Bulletins and take-out menus for herself. She would accompany her sister (Sister Michelle Marie) when she gave retreats, always teasing the retreatants and spreading God’s love to all.
Michele was pre-deceased by her parents and two brothers, Edward and Robert Lister. She is survived by five sisters, Sister Michelle Marie Lister OSF, Theresa Bachman (Ken deceased), Deborah M. Lister, Kate (Michael) Nelson, Mary (John) Matthews; four brothers, Patrick (Kathy) Lister, Joseph (Patty) Lister, Charles (Deb) Lister, and Richard (Sally) Lister and several nieces and nephews.
“Little” Michele is now in the loving arms of her Creator and as she would say “Perfect!”

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Franciscan Villa in Syracuse and will be available for viewing on the funeral home’s Facebook page, Carter Funeral Home Syracuse, or on Michele’s memorial page on Monday, Mar. 28th, after 2 pm. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, Congregational Development Office, 225 Greenfield Pkwy., Suite 208, Liverpool, NY 13088.
