After retirement, Mike and his wife, Joan moved to Vero Beach, Florida where he became active with the social club and participated in bocce ball and shuffleboard leagues. He was an avid daily swimmer and bike rider. Mike enjoyed playing cards and taking cruises. Just finding out about Mr. Desmond. Very, very, sorry for your loss. It was so nice to renewal my friendship with Mr. & Mrs. D, Jeff and the other kids when Mr. & Mrs. moved to Greenpoint where my mom was living a couple of years ago. Delmar Place was well represented at Greenpoint then. A wonderful man with a wonderful family. As a kid you felt naturally comfortable around Mr. D. He'd play basketball with us kids! He taught us the value of a well-placed elbow to the ribs to get clear for your shot! A friend to every one of us Lyncourt kids. Your dad will be missed.

Mickey was a great employee of the Syracuse School District Transportation Dept. with a wonderful attitude toward the safety of the students he served. May he rest in peace.
