Merton C. Ingrahm Jr., of Deland, Florida formerly of Syracuse, New York passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday. Born on February 1, 1930 he was the son of Hulda (Bechert) and Merton Ingrahm. Merton attended North High School followed by his enlistment in the United States Navy as a submariner. He is a veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service he graduated from Syracuse University in 1957. Merton was self-employed at Circle Auto Supply on Syracuse's Northside for many years. He was a member at the American Legion and Lorton Lake Association in Williamstown, New York. Merton volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was eager to offer assistance to neighbors and friends whenever possible.

Upon his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Deland, Florida where he was actively involved at Hidden Hills Association.

He was predeceased by his son, Scott; two sisters, Flora and June; his former wife, Elizabeth. He leaves his three children, Lisa (Leif) Kallquist of Dewitt, NY, Susan (Dennis) Kelly of Bedford, NH and Steven (Tina) Ingrahm of Lafayette, LA; his wife, Lois and her three children, Keith (Georgia), Richard and Patricia;his grandchildren were very special to him and they include: Mckenzie, Tyler, Kristin, Lauren and Shaylyn.

Merton's family, especially his devoted wife, Lois is indebted to VITAS Healthcare and Concierge Caregivers for the constant, professional and personal care provided. Special recognition to "Q" and Dave for their friendship and kindness. Tammy from Woodland Towers was an enormous source of support as well.

A graveside service with military honors will be Friday July 3, at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery..The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to: ALSAC/St. Jude's Children's Hospital. 501 St. Jude's Place. Memphis, TN 38105
