Martin T. Murray
May 24, 2020
Martin T. Murray, 71, passed away in his sleep on Sunday. It would be nice to say he was surrounded by his family; the current situation did not allow it. A big thank you to staff at Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for taking care of Martin in his final days without family. Knowing he had comfort and care relieved some of the frustration. Your sacrifices are appreciated. Martin was a native and life resident of Syracuse. He worked at a lot of different jobs over the years, he retired after more than 30 years working as a certified nurse’s aide. He enjoyed time with his family, who spoiled him terribly. He was the first born to Norton and Rhoda (Kelly) Murray. Their passing broke his heart, as it did his siblings. Surviving are David G. Murray (Kathie Forrest), LaFayette, NY, Catherine M. (Charlie) Burns, and Margaret R. Murray, Phoenix AZ, 7 nieces and nephews and 2 grandnieces and a grandnephew still waiting. Multitudes of cousins are living across the US with a few up in Canada. Martin could be found listening to the Old-Tyme Radio shows that he loved, playing a computer game usually with a Pepsi next to him. A charming and sweet man, he will be missed. There will be a private service at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to Cerebral Palsy Foundation or charity of your choice.
