Martin A. Gosh, 72, of Marcellus, passed away Tuesday March 21st. He ministered as a Franciscan priest in Camden, NJ for several years where he served those who were most challenged by poverty. Marty left the “active” ministry in 1980. In 1982 he married Kathy and together they continued their ministry to those who were marginalized in Syracuse, NY. There he became part of several outreach teams which went directly to the homes of person’s who were challenged with mental health issues and homelessness. This reaching-out was his greatest passion and working with these clients his great joy. Once retired Marty continued to minister to and advocate for those who needed a voice. His greatest joy was time spent with his family. Marty treasured going to his grandchildren’s games, concerts, or school activities. An avid Oriole and Ravens fan, he loved playing catch with his grandchildren and going to a ball game. Marty loved the little joys like cooking, smores over a campfire, walking by the creek holding Kathy’s hand, laughing as he told family stories with his brothers and watching sunsets on the deck with his soulmate, Kathy. He will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and faith. Marty was predeceased by his parents, August and Mary “Betty” Gosh. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Gosh; his daughters, Kira (David) Love, and Erica Gosh ; his sons, Sinh Ho(Thu Ha) and Tri Lam (Angela); his grandson, Dominick Gosh Sandy; his granddaughters, Alicia Gosh and Katrina Love; his brothers, Jack(Rae) Gosh, Aug (Marlene) Gosh, Joe (Patricia) Gosh, Ted ( Julie) Gosh, Tom ( Amy) Gosh, Jude ( Rose) Gosh, and Jim (Sue) Gosh; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at All Saints Church, 1340 Lancaster Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210 followed by a Mass. Mass will be live streamed at www.allsaintssyracuse.org.
