Louis A. Spurchise, 88, of Syracuse passed on Friday. He had proudly served in the Army as a cook. Louis was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale. He was an auto mechanic for a car dealership for many years, but also worked several years at Carrier as a mechanic. Louis’s hobby after retirement was working at a flea market concession and he was an avid puzzle maker. Louis was predeceased by his brothers, Carmen, Sam, Frank, Joseph Spurchise, his sisters, Anna Lanzafame, Mary Pollicino, Angeline Massara. Survivors include his wife, the former Josephine Ferris; his son, Kirt Spurchise; two daughters, Lila Lim and Cynthia Spurchise; several nieces and nephews. Louis’s family would like to send a special thank you to his social worker and all the staff on the 7th floor at Loretto for all the help and friendship they gave to him over the past eight years. Services were private at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
