Kevin P. Donovan, 40, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday. Kevin was the Founder and Director of Healing Hearts Collaborative, an opioid overdose prevention program. He lost his battle with addiction following a long-term recovery. To remove the stigma of the disease, he openly shared his struggles with addiction to educate others of treatment options, and he was a staunch advocate for the use of Narcan.
Survivors include his beloved son, Rowan; his devoted parents, Ginny and Owen; his brother, Owen M. (Caitlyn); his sister, Erin; his nephew, Morgan and nieces, Laurel and Aisling and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, from 4 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass celebrating Kevin’s Life will take place Thursday at 10 am in St. John the Baptist / Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
