Karen L. Willis, 69, of Mattydale passed away on Monday with her loving family by her side. Karen was born in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Maurice and Katherine Woods. Previously Karen was employed with SPFCU and with Mark W. Swimelar, Trustee. In addition to spending time with her cherished grandchildren and family, her interests included ballroom dancing, spending time at her Florida home and walking with her four legged companion, Oliver. Survivors include her husband, Howard; her children, Stephanie Kelly, Jennifer Scrafford-DeRienzo, Nicole Scrafford and Brian (Crystal) Scrafford; her twelve grandchildren and her siblings, Sally Johnston, Richard (Kathy) Woods, Gordon Woods and Barbara (Greg) Card. She was predeceased by her brother, Greg Woods. Calling hours will be Monday, May 13th, 4 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Interment will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
