Obituary for Karen L. LaRue

Karen L LaRue
November 2, 1989 - September 25, 2021
Karen Lynn LaRue, 31, got her wings on September 25, 2021. Karen was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend to so many. For anyone that knew her she was a storm to be reckoned at times but also the nicest, kindest person you could know.
She graduated from Sevier County High School. She has 3 beautiful children that meant the world to her as well as many others that she cared and loved. She loved being able to be around children.
Karen was also a graduate of Bryant and Stratton institute and earned a degree in information technology. Karen had many friends and chose her own path in life. She was a very vocal, straight-forward person and people loved being around her.
There was an incredible outpouring of love at a vigil that was held for her shortly after her passing that many friends attended.
Karen is survived by her daughters Julianna Lynn Shatraw, Mariah Elizabeth Spak, and Eden Belle LaRue, her sisters, Linda R. LaRue and Shawna McGlynn, her brother Devyn McGlynn her parents, Phillip J. LaRue and Judi L. Behnke (Simons) and several aunts and uncles.
Karen will be missed by her family and friends as she touched their lives with love, laughter, and honesty. She was a giving person who would always try to help someone when needed and was a second mother to the many babies and children she would care for.
Her life will be celebrated on October 2, 2021 at 2-4pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd. Syracuse, NY.
As Karen loved children and taking care of them, the family asks for donations to the Diaper Bank of CNY in her name in lieu of flowers, so she can keep helping those she loved the most.
