Karen R. Bender, 54, of Eastwood passed away at her home on Monday. She had a BS in Business and was formerly employed with ARC of Onondaga (Day Hab), Cintas and the Syracuse School Dist. She was a talented volleyball and softball player and a “mom” to her beloved boxers “Brock”, “Busta-J” and “Brick”. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy Bender. Survivors include her brothers, Arthur (Cathy) and Jerry Bender, her niece, Rachel Bender and her recently reunited birthmother, Diana Soltis and family. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 11th, 10:30 am to 1 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, followed by services at 1 pm. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
