Judith Ann Muratore, age 75, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, with her two beloved children by her side. She graduated from Cathedral Academy and received her associate degree from Maria Regina College in Syracuse, NY. Judith was employed as a kindergarten teacher at St. Margaret’s School in Mattydale for several years and then worked as an Income Maintenance Worker for Onondaga County Department of Social Services until her retirement. She was a strong, loving, and caring mother who deeply loved her family and close friends.
She is survived by her son, Donald, daughter, Amy (Steve) Dahl, her two sisters, Donna Dominic, and Marianne (George) Markowitz, and her two grandsons, Owen and Isaac Dahl. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Beth (Jeff) Porter, Kevin, Sarah, and great nieces, Emily, Julia, and Lauren. She remained close to her lifelong friends, Nancy Wayne and Lorraine D’Agostino.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm at The Carter Funeral Home, Inc, 1604 Grant Boulevard, Syracuse, NY. Services will be Thursday April 6, 2023 at 11am at the funeral home with entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dewitt, NY.
Judith’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Crouse Hospital, who provided kind and compassionate care to her in her final days. We would also like to thank all the aides, nurses, and administrators at PACE CNY that cared for her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either The Humane Society of Central NY, or PACE CNY.
