Joseph S. Majewski, 89, of Baldwinsville, NY and of Pinellas Park, Fl passed away on Sunday. He proudly served in the navy from 1952-1956. Joseph was a member of the American Legion, Liverpool Elks, and Local 624 UAW officer. He was employed as a shaved cutter grinder at New Venture Gear for more than 38 years. Joseph was the last veteran to light the Watch Fire at the NYS fairgrounds in 2019. He was predeceased by his wife, Palmina Majewski. Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph(Rachel)Majewski, Julie(David) Venditti, and Nick Caplan; his grandchildren, Jason(Molly)Venditti, Justin(Hope) Venditti, Danielle Purdy and Dillan Purdy; his great-grandchildren, Mikael and Charlotte and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 am to 11 am at Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 1604 Grant Blvd, Syracuse with a service to follow. Joseph will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery’s. Family would like to extend their gratitude to the special care received for their father from the staff at Upstate Community Hospital. Contributions may be made in Joseph's honor to Francis House.
