Jean L. Frantz, 86, passed away on Tuesday. Jean was born in Linden, NJ, to the late Louise and David Hotaling. Her family later moved to Pompey, NY. She and her husband met and raised their family in the Syracuse area. Upon retirement they built their home on Oneida Lake, fulfilling a lifelong dream they shared. She began her career as an operator with NY Telephone and retired from NYNEX in 1988 as a business office supervisor, after over 35 years. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Harrison, in 2014, and by her grandson, Justin Casler, in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Rich) Casler; her son, Edward (Denise) Frantz; her grandchildren, Andrea, Harrison III, Stephen and Alyssa; her great grandchildren, Lilianna, Violet and Rosabel; her sisters, Betsy Steinman and Joni Archibald; her brothers, Charles Hotaling and Andrew Hart, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 18th, from 5 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd. Syracuse. Services will be Saturday, Dec. 19th, at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pompey Hill Cemetery.
