Irene M. Young, 90, of Cicero, NY passed away on Monday. Irene was born in Buffalo, NY, but lived majority of her life in Cicero with her family. Formerly, she was employed with the North Syracuse School District, with a clothing manufacturer for ten years, as well as Carrier, City Printing and McMiller Candle Co., and she belonged to the Institute of Devine Metaphysical Research. Survivors include her sons, Henry (Mary Jo) Young and Gordon (Carol) Young; her grandchildren, Paul (Sarah), Jenna, Joanna Young, and three great-grandchildren. Irene, also known as Grandma Rene, will be remembered for her love for life (people, animals, and nature), her constant passion for research, and her sharp and beautiful mind. Irene’s life will be celebrated with a gathering at a future date. Contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to Anna’s Pantry, Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero, NY 13039.
