Heidi J. Mitrus 53, of Fayetteville passed peacefully on Friday. She was born Maryland but lived in the CNY area most of her life. Heidi earned her bachelor’s degree from Empire State College and attended Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. She was a self-employed licensed massage therapist. Heidi attended Zen Center of Syracuse. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert E. Bird Jr. in 1986. Her survivors include her daughter, Nadia J. Mitrus; her mother, Judy E. Shufty; her sister, Christine (Ricky) Lee; her brother, Steven N. Bird; nieces Nicole (Jeff) Moak and Stephanie (Greg) Mills, her companion Paul Cook, several aunts, uncles, nieces, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
