George “Tom” Gedney

Tom Gedney, 74, of North Syracuse passed away Thursday after an illness. Tom was born in Syracuse to the late George W. and Bette “GB” Gedney. He was a graduate of St. Anthony’s and served in the US Coast Guard. Following his retirement from Anheuser Busch he resided in Florida for many years, where he enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with family and dear friends. He was recently predeceased by his sons, Al and Chris. Survivors include his loving partner, Donna Yaney; his grandchildren, Dylan, Alaina, Annaleigh, Chase, Montanna and Ellianna; his sister, Marianne Burnam; daughters-in-law, Maria and Seely Gedney; his niece, Lori and nephew, Mark. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 14th, from 2 to 5 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool.
