Freda F. (Harriman) Kuon
March 24, 1928 - August 22, 2018
Freda F. Kuon, 90, formerly of Syracuse and Saratoga Springs passed away in Hoosick Falls, NY on Wednesday. Freda was a native of Vermont who resided in Saratoga Springs for more than 50 years, before moving to Syracuse to live with her daughter, Michele. For many years she worked as a house mother at Skidmore College and as a caregiver at Wilton Developmental Center. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and was a traditional rug hooker. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1966; by her daughter, Michele in 2017 and by her sister, Joyce Harriman in 2015. Survivors include her daughters, Malia (James) McCabe of Clemons, NY and Melanie (Charles) Hinxman of Winter Springs, FL; grandchildren, Charles Joseph “CJ” and Jacob Tyler “Jake” Hinxman of Winter Springs FL; her brother, James (Dawn) Clark and their daughters, of Hoosick Falls, NY and many dear friends. A calling hour will be held Saturday, August 25th, from 11 am to noon at Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls, NY and burial and graveside services will follow at 1 pm in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY. After seven months of Hospice Care, as a resident at Francis House in Syracuse, Freda’s condition significantly improved and she was released from the program.
