Obituary for Edward J. Hebert Sr.

Edward J. Hebert, Sr.
December 11, 1960 - August 23, 2022
It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of our father, brother and son, Edward “Eddie” James Hebert, Sr., age 61, of Camillus.

Ed was born in Syracuse on December 11, 1960 to the late Donald and Jennie Hebert, and was a graduate of SUNY Alfred.

An All-Star pitcher for Eastwood Little League, he loved softball and played on his AT&T work team, where he worked for over 15 years.

Ed had a strong passion towards cars and ran a dealership for years in the Syracuse area. He loved the Yankees, softball, taking walks, being at Cross Lake and Billy Joel. His family will always remember Ed dancing and singing, "Everybody’s happy on the Fourth of July.” With his heart of gold, he will be remembered as a loving and kind hearted person, always thinking of others. He will continue to help others as a donor to ConnectLife, a multiple organ donor program, helping burn victims, glaucoma patients and cancer victims.

Survivors include his “pride and joys”, his children, Colette, Ashley, Brooke and Edward Jr.; his former wife, Shana; his sister, Donna Demma and her children, Andrea and Joseph; his sister, Joan (Chris) Heffron and their children, Elizabeth and Jeffrey; his girlfriend, Sonia Timmons and her daughter, Emily.

Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 26th, from 4 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:15 am at Blessed Sacrament, James St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
