Dorothy A. O’Brien
June 13, 1933 - October 3, 2018
Dorothy A. O’Brien, 85, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Wednesday. Dorothy, known as “Dot” or “Dotty” to family and friends, was born in Syracuse. Dorothy was employed as the office manager at Nichols Supermarket until her retirement in 1997. She then became a snowbird and spent her winters in Largo, FL and summers at her beloved camp on Lake Ontario, where she enjoyed beautiful sunsets and hosted many gatherings with family and friends, creating wonderful memories.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” O’Brien in 1992. Survived by her sons, John (Roberta) of Pulaski, Kevin (Cindi) of Mattydale and Michael of Clearwater, FL and by her daughter Karen, (John) Morse of Liverpool; by grandchildren, Sean, Patrick (Kristin) and Zackary O’Brien; Jennifer Glass; Jeff (Karen) Herlowski; great-grandchildren, Easton and Maxlynn O’Brien, Jeremy and Jessica Herlowski and Maya Glass; sister, Jean Karasinski; brother Bill (Ginny) Redington and her nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Irene Kenyon, Lucille Humez, Ginny Mitchell and Chuck Redington have also predeceased her.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October, 7th, from 3 to 6 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in St. Mary’ Cemetery, DeWitt.
