Obituary for Donna Lee "Grandma" Martin

Donna Lee Martin
January 8, 1945 - April 26, 2020
Donna Lee Martin, 75, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday. Donna was one of thirteen children, born to the late William and Issabel (Belanger) Miller. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her big heart and matching big smile, her strength, humility, and spunk. She cherished the family that she raised, and was rarely seen without her beloved grandchildren. Although she could be outspoken at times, she was fondly known as “Grandma” by all who knew and loved her, and she would offer her wisdom and guidance, and what she saw as the truth to those around her. Her interests included cooking, especially for her family, TV Westerns, talking on the phone and traveling, even if it was just to the grocery store or taking the kids out for ice cream.
Her husband, Leonard Martin had predeceased her. Survivors include her children, Paul (Katherine) Bailey, Adrian Loomis, Gidget Bailey, Sarah McCleery, John Bailey, Bill Bailey, and Alfred Bailey; her grandchildren, Michael (Chantel) Bailey, Sharon (Robert) Jamison, Samuel House, Jr., Jason House, Brittany (Khalid) Richardson, Christopher Bailey, Sr., Rebecca Greene, Kevin McCleery, Ann Keslsey, Jane Keslsey, and Kristie Parker; her great-grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Jr., Jahleel Brown, Naomi-Lynn House, Michael Bailey, Jr., Kaleb Jamison, Leanna Bailey, Christopher Bailey, Jr. and Raheem Richardson, all who reside in Syracuse and Michael Matthew and Riley McCleery, all who reside in Florida; her three sisters; her brother; her lifelong friend, Roberta Cole and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In Donna’s World, no one was to be left behind, and she spent her life going out of the way to help others. She will live on. Legends live forever!
