Dian M. (O’Dwyer) Tausend
December 6, 1937 - May 1, 2022
On Sunday, May 1, 2022, Dian Margaret O’Dwyer Tausend, passed away at the age of 84 after a short illness. Dian was born on December 6, 1937 in Syracuse, New York. She attended Assumption Catholic Academy on the North Side and then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from the University at Buffalo.
Dian made a wonderful home for her family. She was adventurous, enjoyed taking trips and loved boating, even though she never did learn to swim. In her later years, Dian would frequent local eateries and breweries with her husband, John. Together they enjoyed listening to bands and attending local festivals and events. And, she had a ritual; each morning Dian would look forward to seeing the birds visit in the backyard; she had names for all of them. Dian was very proud of her children; she celebrated their accomplishments and was the rock when her family needed it most. Always loving and compassionate; she will be greatly missed.
There will not be any public services.
Dian is survived by her husband, John, of over 60 years; and by her two children, Kevin Tausend and Cathy Anderson. Our beloved wife and mother now flies with the red-winged blackbirds.
