Charles R. Wisehoon, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2020. He was a 5th generation Syracuse native, and attended Percy Hughes Elementary School, and Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where he was a member of the football team. “Chip” was an avid outdoorsman, an insatiable history buff, and a gifted chef. He was a valued colleague as a mental health therapy aide at Hutchings Hospital for 30 years. He is survived by his best friend and former wife, Marcia Wisehoon; loving son, Vincent G. Wisehoon; his beloved sisters, Victoria Chappell of Syracuse and Deborah Gay of Wilmington, NC; nieces, Sarah Chappell, Jessica Chappell Mantaro and Lindsey Gay Benca; nephew, Ryan Gay, and great-niece, Ashlan Benca.
A gathering will be held from 11 am to noon on Friday, June 19th at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse followed by a service at noon. Occupancy restrictions will be in place in accordance with NYS guidelines on social distancing. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chip’s memory can be made to the ASPCA.
