Chuck Gedney, 78, of Liverpool passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born in Syracuse, to the late, Charles and Rita (Werbeck), and was a graduate of St. John The Baptist and attended Morrisville College. For many years, he worked as a supervisor with various area ice cream manufactures. He was an avid sportsman, who played baseball and basketball in his early years, and later went on to enjoy golf, cards and following SU Sports and the Yankees. Although sports were a true passion in his life, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His brother and best friend, Ron had predeceased him in 2018. Survivors include his wife, of 57 years, Catherine “Bonnie”; son, Bill (Wanda); daughter, Annmarie (Gary) Fetter; his 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; his brother, Russell, and all the beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 30th, from 4 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
