Carmen Monserate Rodriguez 72, Our beautiful mother entered eternal life on Friday. Carmen was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, and her friends of the near westside. We will remember her for the loving mother, and grandmother she was. Carmen was loved by her whole family and friends, near and far. She was predeceased by her parents, Arquelio & Leonor Rodriguez; a sister, Isabel Pérez, and her brothers, Pedro and Victor Rodriguez. She is survived by her five children, Jeanette Arroyo (Robert W.), Maritza Arroyo-Burgess (Trenita), Rosemary Pérez (Miguel), Raymond Olavarria (Jennifer), Robert Olavarria, her three sisters, Aida Luz Cuin, Nydia Ines Pagan (Benjamin) Nilsa Peña, twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc. 1604 Grant Blvd. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lucy’s Church 432 Gifford Street Syracuse, N.Y.
