Barbara W. Garlock, 76, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. Barbara was born in Syracuse, and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She was formerly employed with General Electric and Shikellamy School District, PA.
Barb was an avid gardener, devoted to the care of her trees, plants and gardens. Only being drawn away from them to meet her dear friends for lunch dates, and shopping excursions. Most of the time she would be sharing the latest updates of her family, that she was so proud of.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Richard; by her mother, Helen and step-father, Gene Hayward and by her father, F. Pitkin Smith. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved children, and grandchildren, Marc (Maggie) Garlock and their children, Anna and Emily; Kelly Guthrie and her children, Reagan and Alex. In addition, she is survived by her brother, David (Nancy) Smith; her sister-in-law, Pam (Kim) Dellow; her nieces and nephews, and friends; some of which who share a bond lasting over 50 years.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 26th, from 2 to 5 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. Services will be Monday, 11 am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
